Ford Championship Weekend 2016 for Harrelson Photography
Nigel Kinrade practically wrote this post for me: This past weekend I was in south Florida for the finale of the NASCAR season working for Harrelson Photography. Insert joke about how I forgot my long glass here. Homestead-Miami Speedway, which track president Matt Becherer affectionately called a ribbon of asphalt near the Florida Everglades, has seen three major reconfigurations since its inception in 1995. The weather was fantastic and the security was tight. And with it being the first year that all three series implemented The Chase format, three championships were up in the air. Johnny Sauter and Daniel Suarez won their respective series, but Jimmie Johnson stole the headlines for the weekend by tying Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Sr. with seven championship titles, a feat that was pretty special to witness.
