Southern 500 for Harrelson Photography
Getting a little behind on image management again, two weeks ago I shot the Bojangles Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway for Harrelson Photography. Hurricane Hermine completely washed out on-track activities the first day, but led to unseasonably comfortable temperatures for the crown jewel throwback. The paint schemes and overall atmosphere of the event really lend itself to a nostalgic and fun time. Plus I got to see Kansas play for the prerace concert. Kevin Harvick had the car to beat, and they beat themselves on pit road, which made for his 17th second place finish in 61 races. He also passed the 10,000 laps led mark, 56% of which have come in the last 97 races. But in the end the race belonged to Martin Truex Jr, who notched his second race of the regular season.
