This past weekend I drove across the border to Tennessee to shoot the NASCAR series at Bristol Motor Speedway for Nigel Kinrade Photography. As has been the issue with two of the last three premier series races, weather was an issue. The race was delayed multiple times and finished on Sunday evening. However, the regrooved racetrack with a resin polish on the bottom line made for some great racing, and a very exciting Xfinity race. An impressive streak also came to an end as Kurt Busch, for the first time this season, did not finish on the lead lap. He had completed every lap in the previous 22 races, a new record. Now Bristol Motor Speedway must complete the massive transition from short track to football stadium for the upcoming game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech, the Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol on September 10th.
