Last weekend I flew up to New York to shoot the NASCAR series at Watkins Glen International for Nigel Kinrade Photography. Unfortunately I had to drive the nearly eight hours back from Rochester to Richmond due to the worldwide Delta fiasco. Other than that, my first road course experience was awesome. The track wasn’t nearly as big as I had envisioned from watching on TV and playing in video games, but the sellout crowd still made for a great environment. The surrounding area and small town we stayed in on the Finger Lakes was quite beautiful. Denny Hamlin soldiered through persistent back pain and two red flags to come out on top, while Jimmie Johnson recorded the first last-place finish of his storied career.
