The #19 Virginia Cavaliers made the short trip to Robins Stadium to take on the Richmond Spiders for the third consecutive year. While Richmond, 7-2, was off to the best start in program history, it ended up being the most lopsided match in the rivalry’s short history. Richmond’s most valuable offensive asset went down with an injury early in the first quarter, and while their defense held the Cavaliers to just 9 goals, their offense never got off the ground. The Cavaliers recorded their first shutout since the 2007 season and improved to 7-5.
