A Taste of Hawaii
Recently my girlfriend and I were able to get away for a week and take a trip to Hawaii. In short, it was incredible. We spent all of our days on the island of Oahu, which is the most heavily traversed by tourists and has the greatest historical significance of the eight islands that make up Hawaii. It is every bit of a picturesque Pacific paradise that most would imagine- from the North Shore, which hosts the best surfing in the world, to Pearl Harbor, and to the extinct volcanos of Diamond Head and Koko Head. And I also got my geek on getting to see where they filmed parts of Jurassic Park. The disparity of the rural and agricultural side of the island to the north is a stark contrast to the resorts and hotels which make up that of the south. Some days it would rain without a cloud in the sky, others you could drive ten minutes and have completely different weather than from where you started. I would almost describe it as a once in a lifetime trip in the sense that I hope everybody gets a chance to go, but I feel that remiss, because I certainly hope to visit again.
