2015 UCI Road World Championships
It’s been a very busy week, and the final day of the 2015 UCI Road World Championships was my first opportunity to spectate and get some snaps. Today’s event was the Mens Elite Road Circuit, a grueling 162.4 mile event that traverses downtown Richmond, Monument Avenue, Church Hill, Shockoe Bottom, and many other historic and cobbled roadways. Outside of it being such a large event within the sport of cycling, I also felt an obligation to go out due to its proximity to home. The event was touted as being able to have a very large positive economic impact on the city, and I hope that it was able to deliver. Either way, Libby Hill Park was amped for every single one of the 16 laps that the riders meandered up the hill.
